The Artsource is a new kind of art marketing agency, which came about as a reaction to traditional galleries who fail to give either artists or buyers a fair deal, artificially inflating prices and charging up to 60% commission. We set out to do business differently, supporting artists (and Médecins sans Frontières), and selling to the buyer at a fair and reasonable price that is set by the artist, not us.
The agency is run by Colin Mansell and Catherine Higgs. Colin is an online marketing specialist with a background in music and community arts, and currently also works as marketing manager for media strategy consultancy Sparkler. Catherine is the Art Director and curator for the site, and currently also works for Christies in London.
