The Fall of light and shade, the dapple of bark
Trees in sheltered glades and sole in sunny paddocks,
dead trees and seedlings

Water

The sparkle of ripples, the flat dull of low tide slack water.
Broad estuaries, Bays in vista, creeks in trickle
Sails in full wind, boats beating to the mark,
Ships loading in siren and rain, docks and cranes and buoys and boats

Abstracted

The curve of shape and bend of line,
the shock of colour and puff of steam, landscape bent to will.

Life Stilled

The lean of bottles drunk, the shyness of pears, the buttocks of peaches.
Bunches of blooms, a single poppy, colour and light that will never wilt
